Principal Allen welcomes families to Longview High School.
Individual Student Pathways
At Longview High School, students do not have to choose between strong academics, career training, college credit, fine arts, athletics, or leadership. Families can find a pathway that fits their student individually.
Private-School-Level IBยฉ. Public-School Access.
Longview High School gives students access to International Baccalaureate, a globally recognized academic program that builds research, writing, speaking, critical thinking, and college-ready habits. We are an official IB World School with Diploma Programme authorization dating back to 2009, along with Middle Years Programme and Career-related Programme options.
College Starts Before Graduation
We have dual credit courses and a new partnership with Kilgore College and UT Tyler, creating an Early College program that places selected students on the Kilgore College campus during high school. The first group includes 75 students who can earn up to 60 college hours toward an Associate of Science or Associate of Arts degree. This creates an aligned transfer pathways to UT Tyler, helping students move from high school to associate degree to bachelorโs degree with support.
A Head Start Families Can Measure
Our students are earning value before they leave high school. The Class of 2026 reported $6,873,589 in institutional and local scholarships. The Class of 2026 also included 541 graduates, showing the scale of student success as they graduate.
Career Skills Before Graduation
We prepare students for more than college acceptance. Our CTE programs prepares them for real careers. Students can explore pathways in health science, culinary arts, welding, business, cosmetology, law, engineering, automotive, agriculture, energy, and more. The new CTE facility expansion will add modern spaces including cosmetology labs, nursing lab, diesel mechanics bay, law classrooms, engineering labs, and a central collaboration space. The CTE catalog also connects programs of study to industry-based certifications in areas such as Adobe, cosmetology, EKG, patient care, phlebotomy, welding, Python, Java, SQL, automotive, diesel, and more.
Fine Arts with a National Stage
At Longview High School, fine arts are not an extra. They are part of the Lobo standard. We have earned national recognition for music education, with The NAMM Foundation naming Longview High School a 2026 Best Schools for Music Education Award winner. The Lobo Choir has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Big Green Marching Machine continues one of Texasโ strongest band traditions, and the Viewettes bring student performance to life through full-scale productions. For students who want to sing, play, perform, dance, create, and lead, we offer a fine arts experience that rivals any in the state.
Athletics Built on Legacy
Lobo Athletics is one of the most recognizable parts of the Longview High School experience. Under Coach John King, Longview football has built a record of sustained excellence with 240+ wins, 17 district championships, a 2018 state championship, and a playoff appearance every year of his tenure. But the bigger story is what athletics builds: discipline, accountability, leadership, and pride that carries beyond the scoreboard.
